The Ministry of Education has confirmed that the transport assistance to students remains intact and will be subject to the same eligibility criteria as last year.

Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro reassured parents and guardians in a statement that there is no change in the transport assistance.

“The program still provides assistance within the first three stages of bus routes from the schools,” Mr Radrodro said.

He said like last year, parents and guardians are responsible to cater for the balance of fares for children traveling beyond the first three stages.

Mr Radrodro continues to encourage eligible parents and guardians to take advantage of this initiative.

For further advice and assistance regarding transport assistance, parents and guardians are encouraged to contact Heads of Schools or Education Officers at Divisional and District Officers.

The applications for the 2023 academic year closed yesterday.
